Reports to: Product Owner
Location: Cairo, Egypt
As a UX & Information Architecture Designer at ERGO, you will help turn complex products, services and systems into clear, intuitive digital experiences.
Working across ERGO’s product, service, experience and innovation projects, you will translate research, strategy and user needs into information structures, navigation models, journeys and task flows.
You will collaborate with researchers, strategists, service designers, technologists and a UI & Interaction Designer. Your focus will be on how an experience is organized, how people find what they need and how they complete meaningful tasks. You will work with the UI & Interaction Designer from early exploration through implementation, refining structures and flows together as the design develops.
This role suits someone who enjoys understanding problems, organizing complexity and testing ideas. You will report directly to the Product Owner and work alongside your design counterpart as a peer. You will take ownership of defined experience areas, explain your decisions and refine your work through feedback, testing and implementation.
Information Architecture & Experience Structure
- Translate research, product concepts and service requirements into clear information architectures and navigation models.
- Organize content and functionality into understandable categories, hierarchies and relationships.
- Develop sitemaps, labeling approaches and experience structures that support findability and ease of use.
- Draft clear navigation labels, instructions and task-related interface copy, coordinating with content specialists where available.
- Consider different user roles and needs, identifying where experiences should differ and where shared structures improve consistency.
- Explore how an experience can accommodate new content and capabilities without becoming unnecessarily complex.
⸻
User Journeys, Task Flows & UX Definition
- Map user journeys and task flows, including entry points, decision points, dependencies and alternative paths.
- Translate user needs and requirements into low-fidelity wireframes and interface structures.
- Identify potential friction, unclear choices and gaps in the experience, including error recovery, access constraints and accessibility of task sequences.
- Work with the UI & Interaction Designer to develop these structures into detailed interface behavior and visually resolved experiences.
- Document UX decisions and task-level acceptance criteria, and review implemented journeys with the UI & Interaction Designer and developers to check that the intended experience is preserved.
⸻
Research, Prototyping & Validation
- Collaborate with researchers to understand user behavior, expectations and mental models.
- Create wireframes and prototypes at the level of detail needed to test structures and task flows, building on shared design assets with the UI & Interaction Designer.
- Help define task-success criteria and evaluation questions with researchers; support usability testing, card sorting and tree testing where appropriate.
- Interpret findings, explore alternatives and refine designs using evidence.
- Present your work, explain your reasoning and contribute constructively to multidisciplinary reviews.
We are looking for someone who is curious about people, thoughtful about structure and attentive to detail. You should enjoy working through ambiguity, making ideas tangible and improving your work through feedback.
You may come from UX design, information architecture, interaction design, product design, service design, human–computer interaction or a related field. We also welcome other educational and professional paths supported by relevant work.
You likely bring:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in UX, information architecture or digital product design.
- A portfolio demonstrating information structures, user journeys, task flows, wireframes and prototypes.
- The ability to translate research and requirements into clear design decisions.
- A practical understanding of navigation, hierarchy, labeling, usability and accessibility.
- Proficiency with Figma or equivalent tools for wireframing and prototyping.
- Some experience testing designs with users and applying what you learn.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with researchers, designers and technologists.
- The initiative to investigate problems independently and the judgment to seek guidance when needed.
Experience with content-rich products, complex workflows, multiple user roles would be valuable. We want to understand how you think: how you structure a problem, consider alternatives and use evidence to improve an experience. Your portfolio should make your contribution and reasoning visible alongside the final outcome.
Please submit your CV, portfolio and a short introduction explaining why this role interests you and what you would bring to ERGO.
Include 2–3 relevant projects showing:
- The problem and user needs you addressed.
- Your role and contribution.
- The structures, journeys or flows you developed.
- How research, testing or feedback influenced your decisions.
