Reports to: Product Owner
Location: Cairo, Egypt
As a UI & Interaction Designer at ERGO, you will turn product concepts, experience structures and user flows into refined, intuitive digital interfaces.
Working across ERGO’s product, service, experience and innovation projects, you will combine visual interface design, interaction design and prototyping to shape how digital products look, respond and behave.
You will collaborate with a UX & Information Architecture Designer, researchers, strategists and technologists. While your UX/IA colleague focuses on experience structure, navigation and task logic, you will develop the interface language, detailed interactions and visual systems that bring the experience to life. You will collaborate from early exploration through implementation, testing component and interaction options while experience structures are still developing. Together, you will refine flows as design and testing reveal opportunities for improvement.
This role suits someone who cares about visual craft, clarity and usability. You will report directly to the Product Owner and work alongside your design counterpart as a peer. You will take ownership of defined design areas, explain your decisions and refine your work through feedback, testing and implementation.
Interface Design & Visual Systems
- Translate UX flows, wireframes and product concepts into high-fidelity interface designs.
- Use typography, layout, grids, spacing, color and hierarchy to make information understandable and actions easy to identify.
- Design responsive interfaces that remain coherent across screen sizes, devices and use contexts.
- Balance brand expression with usability and accessibility, considering contrast, focus visibility, readable layouts and interaction cues.
⸻
Interaction Design & Product Behavior
- Define how interfaces respond to user actions and communicate system status.
- Design interaction states, including loading, empty, success, error, disabled and confirmation states.
- Develop clear feedback, validation and recovery patterns, working with the UX & Information Architecture Designer on message meaning, wording and the next action.
- Use transitions, motion and micro-interactions purposefully to explain change and maintain context, considering reduced-motion needs.
- Build on shared flows and design assets to create interactive prototypes that demonstrate intended behavior, including alternative paths and exceptions.
- Work with UX and research colleagues to test interactions, interpret feedback and simplify flows where needed.
⸻
Design Systems & Implementation
- Create and maintain reusable components, variants, interaction states, design tokens and usage guidance within the agreed design direction.
- Apply shared design patterns consistently while accommodating different product contexts.
- Prepare organized design files, assets and specifications that communicate appearance and behavior clearly.
- Collaborate with developers to assess feasibility, resolve edge cases and refine interaction details.
- Review implemented interfaces for visual, interaction and accessibility quality, partnering with the UX & Information Architecture Designer to check complete user journeys.
We are looking for someone with strong visual judgment, attention to detail and curiosity about how people use digital products. You should enjoy exploring alternatives, refining your craft and improving your work through feedback.
You may come from UI design, interaction design, product design, visual communication, graphic design, human–computer interaction or a related field. We also welcome other educational and professional paths supported by relevant work.
You likely bring:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in UI, interaction or digital product design.
- A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful visual design, responsive layouts and clear interaction behavior.
- Strong foundations in typography, visual hierarchy, spacing, layout and component-based design.
- Proficiency with Figma or equivalent tools for interface design, reusable components and interactive prototyping.
- A practical understanding of interaction states, feedback patterns and purposeful motion.
- Some experience creating or working within design systems and component libraries.
- An understanding of accessibility and platform conventions, including contrast, focus visibility and clear interaction cues.
- The ability to explain design decisions and collaborate with UX designers, researchers and developers.
- The initiative to work through design details independently and the judgment to seek guidance when needed.
Experience with complex workflows, bilingual interfaces, motion design, and HTML and CSS would be valuable. We want to understand both your craft and your reasoning. Your portfolio should show how interfaces behave, how you handle different states and constraints, and how feedback or implementation shaped the final experience.
Please submit your CV, portfolio and a short introduction explaining why this role interests you and what you would bring to ERGO.
Include 2–3 relevant projects showing:
- The problem and user needs you addressed.
- Your role and contribution.
- Your interface designs, key interaction states and prototypes.
- How testing, feedback or implementation informed your decisions.
